	AOL@School http://www.aolatschool.com/ From American Online, a web portal of educational resources, with tools and information divided by grade level (K-12). Lots of great resources for students and teachers, including study kits, worksheets, lesson plans, etc. Free to all web users.
	Discovery Channel School http://school.discovery.com/ From the Discovery Channel, study starters, brain teasers and more. Great for teachers, with lesson plans and materials. 	EduPuppy http://edupuppy.com/ A searchable collection of resources for preschool to grade 3 education. Great for early childhood educators.
	Awesome Library for Kids http://www.awesomelibrary.org/student.html A great collection of online resources divided by school subject, as well as topics like “games” and “news.”
	SuperKids http://super-kids.com/ A directory of kids’ sites divided into categories. Directory includes many pages that are great homework helpers. Also includes links to kids’ shopping online.
	ALA's Great Web Sites for Kids http://www.ala.org/greatsites A collection of sites for kids, as compiled by the American Library Association. Sites are divided by subjects and rated according to age appropriateness.
	KidsAstronomy.com http://kidsastronomy.com/ Great information for kids on the planets and our universe. Includes an astronomy dictionary, free worksheets for teachers, plus detailed information and themed games for students.
	MathNerds http://mathnerds.com Math help for all grades. MathNerds is staffed with volunteer mathematicians who provide hints, references, direction, and guidance (but not necessarily answers) for solving math problems. Also includes and archive of Qs and As.

	Berit’s Best Sites For Children http://beritsbest.com/ Directory and search engine of safe kids’ sites on the web.
	KidsClick! http://kidsclick.org/ Search and browse though a comprehensive database of kid-targeted sites compiled by a group of librarians in the U.S.
	Yahooligans http://yahooligans.yahoo.com/ Yahoo’s kids’ portal. Includes directory and search, games, jokes and lots of other stuff to keep kids busy.
	Kids.us http://www.kids.us/ A portal and directory of sites containing “educational and appropriate online fun.” An amazing collection of sites that are regularly screened and monitored to ensure all content is appropriate for kids 13 and under. Categories make for easy access.
	Kaboose http://www.kaboose.com A web portal for kids and parents. Includes a search engine of hand-picked family-friendly sites, as well as games, on and offline activities and resources for parents. Also includes Funschool.com, with activities divided by grade level.
	Kidsites.org http://www.kidsites.org/ A collection of hand-picked kid-friendly sites in a variety of categories.
	Nick.com http://www.nick.com Nickelodeon’s online portal for kids. Offers lots of information and tools related to Nickelodeon TV shows, plus email, message boards, games, calendar, jokes and much more.

	Habbo Hotel http://habbohotel.com/ Habbo Hotel is a virtual hang-out, where each person creates his or her own character and interacts with others in an online hotel.

	Online Safety from FEMA for Kids http://www.fema.gov/kids/on_safety.htm Online safety rules for kids, from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
	Wired Kids http://www.wiredkids.org A great, comprehensive resource for kids' online safety. Includes information about cyberbullying, flaming and cyberstalking, for kids, tweens, teens, parents, educators and law enforcement. Run entirely by volunteers. Also check out affiliate site www.wiredsafety.org.

	About The Expert I am a mother of three and have always enjoyed spending time with my kids online.
